DATE: Georgian, c.1830

A particularly beautiful Georgian cluster brooch with a halo of seed pearls in "pie crust" settings surrounding a large lavender paste gemstone. It dates from the 1830s, a time when paste jewellery was still very much sought after on account of its technology-simulating-nature newfangledness, and the colour of the stone is completely mesmerising. Crafted in 15 karat gold, it remains in near-perfect condition with just a hint of a patina.
